The Dudley Youth Council (or DYC) is a non-profit and apolitical organisation, based in the Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands. Our Representatives are made up of Young People aged 11-19 and
up to 25 for those with disabilities. We represent the views of the young people of Dudley, and empower their opinions.
The Youth Council is part of the Dudley Youth Service, and the service supports the Youth Council with resources and staffing.
We as a Youth Council aim to make the Dudley Borough a better place for Young People to live by:
- Stimulating and improving joint working between young people and decision-makers
- Developing and leading projects that will benefit and improve facilities and services withing the local area for young people
- By promoting positive images of young people
- Encouraging and supporting young people to become involved in community action
- Acting as a voice for young people's views
- Developing close links with the media
